The word "menagerie" was the trigger for the imagery in Charles Keiger's latest paintings. The concept of a circus has always been intriguing; wild animals, acrobats and clowns all coexisting in an isolated environment, complete with an audience. In some ways this concept is similar to a painting; Take raw materials (skillfully manipulated), confine them to a designated space and defy the laws of nature. The rules of the world do not apply to what happens on a stage or a picture plane. You are shown an alternate reality and maybe, just for an instant, the viewer, through their imagination, is a mental participant in the impossible.
Charles Keiger is an Atlanta-based artist known for his work representing southern gothic and magical realism. Featured in Art & Antiques magazine as an artist emerging on the national scene, Keiger has shown his work in a series of one-man and group shows presented throughout the southeast, as well as New York City. His work has been collected in 200 private and corporated collections, including the MGM Grand Las Vegas, Joel Katz, and Halle Berry. Keiger holds a BFA from the University of South Carolina, Coulmbia, and an MFA from the University of Georgia in Athens.

2nd Annual Art in the Park
The Farragut Business Alliance and Town of Farragut have again partnered to present "Farragut Art in the Park", an official Dogwood Arts Festival event.
Presented by TDS, this celebration of art is a plein air - or open air - painting event from 9am-4pm on Saturday, April 21st and Sunday, April 22nd.
Locations include: Campbell Station Park, Mayor Bob Leonard Park, Anchor Park, Farragut Town Hall/Farragut Memorial Plaza, Historic Pleasant Forest Cemetery, Old Concord, and Bridgemore Boulevard.
A reception and sale at Red Line Gallery will follow: Friday, April 27th at 7:00pm
